With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Mrs. Liz Wheeler, a cherished member of the Mayflower School District community. Mrs. Wheeler served our students and staff for many years and left an indelible mark on students', colleagues', and parents' lives.
Mrs. Wheeler was known for her unwavering dedication to students and for creating a positive and nurturing environment. She was crucial in creating a positive, welcoming learning environment for our students and staff.
During this challenging time, the entire Mayflower School District family extends heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Wheeler's family and friends. We recognize her profound impact on our school community and will remember her fondly for her passion, kindness, and commitment to our school.
In the coming days, Mayflower School District will provide support services for students, faculty, and parents affected by this loss. We ask for privacy for Mrs.Wheeler's family and respect for their grieving process.
Her life will be celebrated at Roller McNutt in Conway on Monday, December 11, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family has requested no flowers. Instead of flowers, the family has requested that if you need or want to do something, please send a monetary contribution to support Colby and Christopher, her two grandsons whom she loved more than life.

Our student, Raven Brown, was a key player in testing Apps for the Corporate Walmart Associate Tools Team. She immediately found some issues that would not allow her to navigate the application without vision, and their partnership quickly grew into a series of recurrent successes with Raven playing the role of an engineer. Raven was such a big help that the Walmart team came to our school from their corporate office to work with and thank her in person. Praise goes to her teacher, Mrs. Altes, for making this connection and fostering success throughout the process.
