MMS 8th Grade Promotion will be held on Thursday, May 18th, at 6:00 pm. The event will take place at First Baptist Church of Mayflower. Participation is not required, but is encouraged! Family and friends are invited to come celebrate our students with us!
8th grade students received an information sheet with details about this event. There is a permission slip which needs to be signed by parents and returned so that students can ride the bus to the church and participate in the rehearsal that morning. Transportation to and from the ceremony that evening is the responsibility of the parents.
All current 8th graders may participate in this event. Please note that participation and/or receiving a promotion certificate does not guarantee advancement to the 9th grade. Final determination of promotion will be based on final grades and attendance.
We look forward to seeing everyone on Thursday night!
A huge congratulations to our 2022-2023 retirees! Thank you for your years of dedicated service to the Mayflower School District, our students, and the Mayflower community. Wishing Stephanie Mooney, Kathy Leahman, Jennifer Martsolf, and Teresa Chambliss all the best!

MMS 8th graders visited Central High in Little Rock today, and enjoyed a picnic lunch after. They have been reading a novel in ELA classes about Civil Rights, as well as studying the topic in their History classes. Central High offers a tour highlighting the Civil Rights movement in Arkansas, and of course the Little Rock Nine. We appreciate our teachers for making the curriculum come alive for our students! Special thanks goes to Mrs. Stephanie Ivy, who organized and planned this trip. She also made special presentations to the students before the trip to maximize their learning experience.
MMS counseling classes welcomed Miss Petit Jean Valley Kristin Hardy for Mental Health Awareness Month. She promoted her social impact initiative M.I.N.D: Mental Illness Never Defines.
We appreciate Nurse Elliott and Nurse Fortner. You are always there on the duty no matter how difficult it is for you and no matter what campus. We wish you a very Happy School Nurses Day.
