For the 4th 9 weeks, MMS will focus on the character word “citizenship.” We want to model good citizenship in all aspects of life, and show our students how to do the same. We invite you to partner with us to discuss this important trait with your student, focusing on what good citizenship means and what it looks like.

MMS has been celebrating Women’s History Month by learning about women who have made a significant impact on our world. Today is International Women’s Day, and we are proud and honored to be a part of teaching the young women of our community. We are glad to be part of their present, and are excited to see what impact they have in the future!

In honor of Black History Month, our students have been enjoying learning about a prominent African-American each morning on our daily news. These Americans have contributed to our collective good, and we are appreciative of and celebrate their accomplishments. This week, we have focused on political figures. Patience Webb, a 7th grader at MMS, has used her digital art talents to create unique images of some of these individuals. Please enjoy viewing a selection of her work on our live feed and facebook page. Pictured are: General Colin Powell, current Vice-President Kamala Harris, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, and former President Barack Obama.

As part of our Kindness Day celebration tomorrow, we are partnering with MES and MHS to raise money for a local family who was involved in an accident earlier this week. Students may wear a hat for a $1 minimum donation. We are so thankful to be in a community that helps when someone is in need! We will also be having Snack Day, so money is needed if students wish to purchase items.
