Attention Mayflower Elementary Parents: On Tuesday, September 13th, there will be a new traffic route to drop off 1st-4th Grade Car Riders. Take a look at the attached map designating the new route. Thank you for your patience as we work to make drop off safer and easier.

The district campuses, along with most of the community, was without power yesterday, and is still experiencing power issues today. This has created a power an food shortage issues in district cafeterias. Mayflower School District will take AMI day #1 on Thursday, August 25. AMI packets will be issued to students on Friday, August 26 to be completed by Tuesday, August 30. Please share this message with anyone you know who may not be able to receive messages. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Important 2022-23 Breakfast and Lunch Information: For the past two years, every Mayflower student has eaten breakfast and lunch for free due to federal funding. Unfortunately, the funding to provide free meals to all students ran out this summer. This year the cost for breakfast will be $2.00 per student, and the cost of lunch will be $3.00 for elementary students and $3.25 for middle and high school students. We encourage all families to complete the free/reduced lunch application (even if you think you may not qualify). Simply completing the application helps the school district. Important Bus Information: School starts on Tuesday, Aug. 23. All students planning to ride the bus will need to be at their designated pick up location 25 minutes earlier than last year's pick up time. In the afternoon, buses will pick up elementary students at 4:10pm, middle school at 4:15pm, and high school at 4:20pm. Please be patient with our drivers and staff as we get into a routine and can better estimate when students will arrive home.

MMS is proud to announce that our very own Mr. Jim White was selected as the Mayflower School District Employee of the Year! Mr. Jim is our resident maintenance man, Mr. Fix-It, Jack of all trades, and master of all trades! All that he does is with excellence and with a smile. He takes pride in his work and he keeps our building in tip-top shape. Mr. Jim is pictured receiving his award from MSD Superintendent Mr. Chisum. Congratulations on a job well done!

MMS is proud to announce our 2021-2022 Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Haley Storms! Mrs. Storms teaches 6th grade science and social studies. She does an incredible job with planning engaging, fun lessons. Students and teachers alike love her. She is an asset to our building and to our district! She is pictured with MMS Assistant Principal Leah Campbell and MMS Principal Rick Gales. We are so proud of Mrs. Storms and we are thankful she is ours!

MMS Open House is scheduled for Tuesday, August 16th, from 5-7 pm! Here are some additional details: - 7/8 grades: Enter through doors by the new gym to pick up schedules. Lockers are preassigned. - 5/6 grades: Enter through the main entrance. - Students can take supplies to their homeroom (5/6), to their locker or their 2nd period teacher (7/8).
